1912 Bilar Farm School (BFS) was established as the first agricultural learning institution in the Province of Bohol. The parcels of land for the new school were donated by the late Toribio Ancog (Oyong Beyo) and wife Juana. The school started with 4 teachers and 24 pioneering students trained in the elementary level with special emphasis on farm or agricultural work. Mr. Ordonio was the Supervising School Principal while Mr. Jose Bacquial was the Bilar Municipal President1915 Mr. Severo Yap was the School Principal while Mr. Jose Bacquial was the Bilar Municipal President.
1917 Mr. Fabian Concon was the School Principal while Mr. Marcelino Kodemus was the Bilar Municipal President.
1919 Mr. German Yap was the School Principal while Mr. Genaro Bacquial was the Bilar Municipal President.
1924 Bilar Farm School (BFS) was changed
to Bilar Rural School (BRS). Mr. Isidro Madjos was the School Principal
while Mr. Honorato Macalolot was the Bilar Municipal President.
1926 Bilar Rural School (BRS) became the
Bilar Rural High School (BRHS). This trans-formation of becoming a
secondary school was brought about by the growing need for an
educational advancement.
1927 Mr. Pagsulingan was the School Principal while Mr. Honorato Macalolot was the Bilar Municipal President.
1932 The school opened the Home Economics curriculum for girls.
1938 Mr. Julian Mamaril was the School Principal while Mr. Antonio Ancog was the Bilar Municipal President.
1941 Classes stopped during the World War II.
1943 Mr. Leoncio Menesis was the School Principal while Mr. Pevronilo Cabahug was the Bilar Municipal President.
1946 Classes resumed, graduating 12 boys in Agriculture and 19 girls in Home Economics.
1948 Mr. Magno Tenebro was the School Principal while Mr. Aniano Dagoldol was the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1949 Mr. Bruno Santos was the School Principal while Mr. Cayetano Decasa was the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1953 Mr. Gregorio Alaba was the School Principal while Mr. Cayetano Decasa was the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1960 Republic Act No. 2793 was enacted
in June 19 to convert the Bilar Rural High School (BRHS) into the Bohol
National Agricultural School (BONAS). Mr. Perfecto Boncato was the
School Principal while Mr. Cayetano Decasa was the Bilar Municipal
Mayor.
1963 Mr. Marcelino Lumayag was the School Principal while Mr. Enrique Gabriel was the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1967 The institution first offered the
two-year technical course were 36 out of the 376 students enrolled in
the college department.
1968 Republic Act No. 5253 was approved
in May 16 to convert the Bohol National Agricultural School (BONAS) into
the Bohol Agricultural College (BAC) . The following courses were
opened: Associate in Agricultural Technology (AAT), Bachelor of Science
in Agriculture (BSA) [majors in Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural
economics, Agricultural Engineering, and Entomology], and Bachelor of
Science in Agricultural Education (BSAgEd) [majors in Agricultural
Engineering and Agricultural Economics]. Later, Agro Forestry was
offered as a major field.
1969 Mr. Nazareno Apellido was the
School Superintendent,Mr. Marcelino Lumayag was the School Principal,
while Mr. Agapito Taghap was the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1972 Mr. Mauro L. Ruma was the School
Superintendent, Mr. Apolinar D. Cenabre was the Acting College Head, Mr.
Marcelino Lumayag was the School Principal, while Mr. Benedicto Palacio
was the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1976 Mr. Mauro L. Ruma was the School
Superintendent, Mr. Marcelino Lumayag was the College Head, Mr. Apolinar
D. Cenabre was the School Principal, while Mr. Benedicto Palacio was
the Bilar Municipal Mayor.
1978 Some courses were phased out while
the following courses were offered: Agricultural Technician Curriculum
(ATC) and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) [majors in Crop
Science, Animal Science, Agro-Forestry, Crop Protection, and
Agricultural Education].The Bachelor of Science in Home Economics
Education (BSHEEd) was offered [majors in Elementary Teaching, Secondary
Teaching, and Home Management Extension].
1980 Mr. Mauro L. Ruma was the School
Superintendent while Mr. Apolinar D. Cenabre was the College Head, while
Mr. Apolinar D. Cenabre was the College Head, while Mr. Benedicto
Palacio was the Municipal Mayor.
1981 Dr. Apolinar D. Cenabre was the OIC Superintendent and College Head, College Department.
1982 Dr. Mateo M. Limbago was the School Superintendent while Dr. Apolinar D. Cenabre was the College Head.
1984 Bohol Agricultural College (BAC) was the venue of the 13th National Youth Science Camp.
1987 The Diamond Jubilee of Bohol
Agricultural College (BAC) as a learning institution was marked. There
was an Alumni Home-coming Celebration.
1989 The Bachelor of Science in
Agriculture (BSA) curriculum was phased out. The school was a recipient
of the Agricultural Technology Education Project (ATEP) and offered the
Diploma in Agricultural Technology (DAT) for the first two years and the
Bachelor in Agricultural Technology (BAT) for the last two years
[fields of specialization in Crop Production Technology (CPT), Animal
Production Technology (APT), Post-Harvest Technology (PHT), Agricultural
Mechanics, and Entrepreneurship].
1990 The Agricultural Technician Course
(ATC) which was also known as Student-Parent Cooperative Study Program
(SPCSP) was offered along with the DAT-BAT Program.
1991 The school offered Bachelor of
Science in Agricultural Education (BSAgEd) [majors in Home Economics and
Livelihood Education (HELE) and Technology and Home Economics (THE)].
1996 The Diploma in Forest Ranger (FR) and Hotel and Restaurant Service Technology (HRST) courses were offered.
1997 The Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) was offered.
1998 The Central Visayas State College
of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT) was established in
June 22 by virtue of Republic Act No. 8659. The Bohol Agricultural
College (BAC) became the CVSCAFT Main Campus.
1999 Dr. Mateo M. Limbago assumed as the
1st SUC President of CVSCAFT. The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
(BSA) major in Entomology, Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSEd),
Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd), and the Bachelor in
Agricultural Technology (BAT) new curriculum were offered as new
courses. Hon. Ester Corazon J. Galbreath was chosen as Board of Trustees
(BOT) for being the President of the Federated Alumni Association.
2000 Hon. Henry B. Vidal was chosen as
Board of Trustees (BOT) for being the President of the Federated Faculty
Association. The Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Services
Technology (BHRST), Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering
(BSAE), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), and Master in
Agriculture and Development (MADEV) [majors in Agricultural Education
and Agricultural Extension and Community Development] were offered.
2001 The CVSCAFT Main Campus –
Buenavista Extension Class was established with 3 courses offered:
Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Secondary Education
(BSEd), and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS).
2003 Dr. Elpidio T. Magante was
appointed as the 2nd SUC President of CVSCAFT. The Bachelor of Science
in Industrial Technology (BSIT) [majors in Automotive, Civil Technology,
Food Technology, and Garments] was offered.
The Kalahi Farmers Center for Rural
Development (KFCRD) was launched in CVSCAFT Main Campus by DAR Secretary
Roberto M. Pagdanganan. CVSCAFT Main Campus was 2nd placer in the
National Top Performing School for the Foresters Board Examination with
70% school passing percentage.
2004 CVSCAFT Main Campus was 10th placer
in the National Top Performing School for the Licensure Examination for
Teachers (Elementary Curriculum) with 81% school passing percentage.
Outstanding Performance in LET (Secondary Curriculum) with 100% school
passing percentage.
The Los Mansoneros CVSCAFT Rodeo Team,
with Mrs. Yolanda P. Joaquino as coach-chaperon, was proclaimed the
National Champion (Student Category) in the following competitions:
Rodeo Masbateno, Masbate (Luzon); Buglasan Rodeo, Negros Oriental
(Visayas); and Kaamulan Rodeo, Bukidnon (Mindanao).
2005 CVSCAFT Main Campus was 18th placer
in the National Top Performing School for the Licensure Examination for
Teachers (Elementary Curriculum) with 73% school passing percentage.
2006 Mr. Jose T. Travero was the OIC
College Director for the CVSCAFT Main Campus. Nida G. Butron was 8th
placer in the Agriculture Board Examination. The Bachelor of Science in
Tourism (BST), Bachelor of Science in Office System Management (BSOSM),
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) Ladderized, and Ba-
chelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSEntrep) were offered as new
courses. CVSCAFT Main Campus was 2nd placer in the National Top
Performing School for the Foresters Board Examination with 70% school
passing percentage.
2007 Prof. Virgilia D. Tejada was the
College Director for the CVSCAFT Main Campus. Ruben Sumampong was 5th
placer in the Licensure Examination for Agricultural Engineers.
2008 Jimmy Olareta was 8th placer in the Foresters Licensure Examination.
2009 The Bohol Island State University
(BISU) was established in October 14 by virtue of Republic Act No. 9722.
Avelina D. Escudero was chosen as member of the Board of Regents (BOR)
for being the President of the Federated Faculty Association. Dr. Rumila
C. Bullecer was chosen as one of the Ten Outstanding Filipino
Researchers. Dennis M. Madjus was 8th placer in the Foresters Licensure
Examination. Vilma A. Hingpit was 10th placer in the Licensure
Examination for Teachers.
2010 Dr. Elpidio T. Magante was
appointed as the 1st University President of BISU. Hon. Dioscoro A.
Avergonzado was chosen as Board of Regents (BOR) for being the President
of the Federated Alumni Association. He was also designated as the new
Campus Director for BISU-Bilar. Joyce T. Timbal was crowned as the 1st
BISU Charter Queen. BISU-Bilar Red Cross Youth was Bohol’s Best RCY
Council. Herlyn M. Cabig was Bohol Red Cross Biggest Teen Star. Mr. John
R. Gudmalin was elected Auditor of the National Red Cross Youth
Advisers League. BISU-Bilar was the venue of the 1st National Horse Show
and Endurance Race. Dr. Licinia S. Saniel and Ms. Marietta C. Macalolot
were chosen and trained as AACCUP national accreditors.
2011 Mrs. Avelina D. Escudero was chosen
and trained as AACCUP national accreditor. BISU-Bilar was the venue of
the 1st Governor’s Cup Horse Show and Endurance Race. BISU-Bilar hosted
the 1st HEART Youth Camp under the patronage of Cong. Arthur C. Yap of
the Third District of Bohol. BISU-Bilar is AACCUP First Level Accredited
in the following programs: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA),
Bachelor in Agricultural Technology (BAT), Bachelor in Secondary
Education (BSEd), and Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd).
BISU-Bilar was proclaimed the station
for the Regional Climate Change Center (RCCC) in a launching attended by
the CHED Commissioner in the Bohol Biodiversity Complex.BISU-Bilar was
named as the Centre of Agri-business and Sustainable Agriculture in
Bohol. Stalin S. Baja was the first placer in the Computer Hardware
Servicing NC II during the Bohol Provincial Skill Competition sponsored
by TESDA. Dr. Rumila C. Bullecer and Mrs. Reizl P. Jose were
Diamond/Platinum Awardees during the Asian Conference for Academic
Journals and Higher Education Research. Lebert I. Omac was the
topnotcher in the Foresters Licensure Examination. Agnes A. Alimpolos
was 7th placer in the Licensure Examination for Teachers. Jerome Q.
Sugabo was 10th placer in the Licensure Examination for Teachers.
2012 The Hon. Jejomar S. Binay, Vice
President of the Republic of the Philippines, visited the BISU Bilar
Campus. BISU-Bilar celebrates her Centennial Foundation Day in March 14.
Unveiling of the BISU Bilar Centennial Marker. Groundbreaking of the
BISU Bilar Alumni Centennial Building. Dr. Machito Mihara, Department of
Bioproduction and Environment Engineering, Tokyo University of
Agriculture, Tokyo, Japan, was the school’s first international speaker
during the 91st Commencement Exercises. Batch Alumni Homecoming was held
last May 11-12, 2012.
